Friends of Madison County,
Thank you for considering me as your choice for County Attorney for Madison County, Nebraska.
I have been a Deputy County Attorney for Madison County since 2018 and live near Madison with my wonderful wife and three delightful children, and I am currently the Secretary of the Madison County Republican Party. For more information on me, see my About page.
Since all of the candidates for this office are Republicans, this race will be decided in the primary election, so don’t forget to vote on May 12, 2026!
As your County Attorney, I pledge to do the following:
Partner with law enforcement:
As County Attorney, I will build on my existing strong relationships with our law enforcement agencies to ensure they are supported, equipped, and enabled to perform at the height of their ability. I will make myself available at all hours to answer legal questions and discuss cases, just as I already do as a Deputy County Attorney. I promise to encourage, enable, and equip our law enforcement officers to continue growing in their ability to serve, protect, and defend you. This will include offering ongoing trainings or continuing education on the various legal aspects of law enforcement, such as search warrants, Miranda warnings, and probable cause to arrest. Several officers have told me that regular legal training sessions would be helpful, so I would like to provide that as County Attorney. I have already taught continuing education for attorneys on various occasions and would like to provide the same support to our law enforcement officers.
Prosecute efficiently:
As County Attorney, I will do my utmost to bring cases to a timely conclusion. Prompt prosecution is important for victims who deserve justice, for the accused who deserve a speedy trial, and for the public who deserve an efficient legal system and responsible use of public resources. I will be prepared to bring cases to trial promptly when they cannot be resolved through a guilty plea.
Protect our communities:
As County Attorney, I will strive to keep our communities safe from those who would harm them. I will work to keep drug dealers, predators, and other dangerous criminals off our streets through firm prosecution and the judicious use of Nebraska’s habitual criminal statutes to remove repeat offenders from our communities for an extended period of time. I have been privileged to work under a very skilled prosecutor in our current County Attorney, Joe Smith, and I pledge to build on what I have learned to keep the communities and people of Madison County safe.
I have enjoyed serving Madison County as a Deputy County Attorney for the last several years, and I thank you for voting in the local Republican primary on May 12!
